Bocote, also called Rio-Grande- or Mexico Rosewood, is a very decorative South American hardwood. As a rule, the tree is only available in small dimensions, as it rarely gets thicker than 40 cm. The unique beautiful wood has a yellowish brown to coffee brown body with dark brown to almost black stripes. It tends to darken to a beautiful brown tone with age, which makes the black grain even more visible. Due to its natural oil content it is perfectly suited for knife handles and can be polished easily.
