While forged razors and the classic wet shave are experiencing a renaissance, real broadswords continue to be a rarity. For decades, perhaps even centuries, of abstinence, 8/8 inch wide razors can be found in our range for the first time. In times when the mighty blades were even more common, 8/8 inch wide straight razors were called 14s. This marking was stamped into the tang of the blade before the forged blades were hardened. We didn’t miss this special feature and implemented it with our Böker 14er.
The 8/8 inch wide blade not only has a historical blade etching with partial gilding, but also a gilded blade spine and tang that is elegantly decorated with a filigree and detailed laser engraving. The complete polishing of the blade and the serration on both sides on the tang complete the features of this knife. We have also used historical models as a basis for the material used. The cladding made of dark, slightly transparent acrylic fits harmoniously into the overall picture thanks to the subtle brass inlay. With an authentic Boker stamp in the blade passage, certificate of authenticity and elegant floating display. Handmade in the Boker knife factory in Solingen.
